October is the Month for Scares and Treats! 🎃👻

This Halloween season, Sonia created a commercial-style reel for Halloween Oreos. From editing to visual storytelling to crafting the dialogue, Sonia brought this project to life entirely on her own.

Her level of creativity, imagination, and execution continues to amaze me.

it’s so exciting to see her ideas transform into polished, professional projects.

Stay tuned for more of Sonia’s work as she keeps pushing her creative boundaries!

September has been an amazing month of progress for Sonia!

Her confidence and performance levels have grown tremendously, and she took full responsibility for editing her entire performance of Iggy Azalea – Fancy.

Watching her growth as both an editor and a performer has been beyond fulfilling, and I couldn’t be prouder of the dedication and creativity she continues to show.

At the moment, Sonia’s favorite band is The Driver Era. Once I introduced her to their music, she not only enjoyed singing along to their songs but also took the initiative to create a small reel featuring her favorite things while performing. This project reflects her growing confidence, creativity, and passion for blending music with visual storytelling.

Sonia is quickly becoming an independent video editor in DaVinci Resolve! The videos you’re about to watch were edited entirely by her, start to finish. She’s reached the point where she trusts my teaching style enough to let her own creativity take the lead

— and it shows in every frame.

July & August 2025 Projects

This video is a heartfelt testimonial from my student Sonia, who put this together to show her gratitude for our one-on-one film sessions. Watching Sonia grow; not just in her editing skills, but in her confidence and creative voice has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’m truly honored and deeply thankful for this opportunity to mentor such a passionate and talented young lady.

I'm incredibly excited to share a personal and transformative journey—one that began with tutoring a young woman named Sonia in film. Sonia has autism, and working with her has completely opened my eyes to the powerful ways storytelling and visual creativity can unlock deeper communication, emotional expression, and confidence.

Through film, Sonia has been able to express thoughts and ideas that words alone couldn’t convey. Her natural talent and unique perspective as a neurodivergent creator have shown me how film isn’t just an art form—it’s a bridge. A bridge between worlds, abilities, and hearts.

This experience has inspired me to dive deeper into film producing with the goal of mentoring more individuals on the spectrum—encouraging them to become creativists , storytellers who channel their brilliance through the lens of film.

I hope you'll follow our journey as I continue exploring how filmmaking can empower neurodiverse voices and open new doors for connection, creativity, and inclusion.

Autism and digital storytelling

  • It all begins with an idea.

  • Relationships built off trust and encouragement.

  • Grow into becoming a self-confident individual breaking down all barriers.

Quiet Terror is a powerful short film that pushes the boundaries of creative storytelling through the lens of Sonia.

Told with minimal dialogue and heightened visual cues, Quiet Terror blends psychological suspense with surreal fantasy and horror effects, crafting an immersive experience that invites viewers into Sonia’s world—where silence speaks loudest, and every movement holds a deeper meaning.

"Sonia’s Edit" is a short film that Sonia confidently edited from start to finish. She also contributed as a co-writer and cinematographer, showcasing her incredible creative growth. Just three weeks ago, she was hesitant to even open DaVinci Resolve—but today, she’s editing with confidence and precision. I couldn’t be prouder of how far she’s come as an emerging editor and storyteller. 🌟

“Something Went Missing with Naomi” is a short film brought to life in just two days, showcasing the powerful performance of Sonia, who not only embraced the emotional beats of anger, frustration, and disappointment but also contributed behind the scenes. Through intentional pre-filming exercises focused on identifying and expressing emotions, Sonia was able to connect deeply with the material and deliver a moving portrayal that feels both authentic and raw.

Her commitment extended beyond acting—Sonia also played a key role in script consulting and provided thoughtful input on camera direction. Her natural intuition and talent for storytelling made this short film an unforgettable creative journey. I’m incredibly proud of Sonia and what we were able to accomplish together in such a short time.
